The Gran Recorrido Andino, the ancestral roads of the Province of Oriente and the foothills of the Llanero Mountain Rangeuniting two regions, cultures, local initiatives and a lot of landscape through nature and community tourism.

The Gran Recorrido Andino is divided into three segments: Segment 1 From PARAMO TO PARAMO, Segment. 2 On the way to Meta through the Serranía del Dios de la Noche (God of the Night Mountain Range) (Chingaza in Muysca) y Segment 3 Through the Guatiquía Canyon, Water Mountains, Peace Trails.

FROM MOOR TO MOOR is a two-stage walking tourvisiting the Páramo de Cruz Verde and the Páramo de Chingaza, learning about conservation initiatives, community tourism and regenerative nature tourism, where the main objective is to cultivate water in the moorlands and allow these reserves to become a corridor for wildlife threatened by so many changes in the ecosystem. We will visit and walk through indigenous trails, sacred lagoons, frailejones forests, cloud forest, waterfalls, rural inns, different thermal floors.

Itinerary

WHY IS THIS EXPERIENCE REGENERATIVE? We make visible the importance of the Páramos and integrate communities that are committed to conservation and allow them to show their visitors their commitment to biodiversity and REGENERATION. We rescue and protect the ancestral paths of the territory and articulate local initiatives that offer tourist services to visitors.

Climate: cold, humid and muddy (Páramo) / remember it is a water-producing ecosystem.

Positive vertical drop: 800 mt + D

Negative difference in altitude: 800 mt -D

Location: Rural Bogotá, Rural Choachí, Buffer Zone of Chingaza NP

Start of hike: 45 minutes from Bogota

Attractions: Ancestral trails, royal road, sacred lagoons, community tourism, native forest, endemic and giant frailejones, waterfall, streams, birds, trail of the Andean bear (with the possibility of seeing it), seas of frailejones, moss mats, enchanted forests, mist, viewpoints.

STAGE 2. PRIVATE RESERVE IN THE CHINGAZA WASTELAND IN CHOACHÍ: Breakfast at the lodge | Transfer in 4x4 vehicles to the beginning of the hike (1h approx) | Start of hike in the Chingaza Wasteland, you will learn about the community initiative and regenerative tourism (note: You will not enter Chingaza NP, you will be in the buffer zone) | Distance to walk: 10 km approx | Time approx: 4 to 5 hours | Transfer to the lunch spot | Transfer in 4x4 vehicles to Choachí | Transfer to Bogotá in private transportation

CANCELLATION POLICIES On the part of the participants - If you request a cancellation 8 days prior to the start date of the experience you may request a refund, deducting 10% of administrative expenses and possible costs already incurred as services of the activity, such as payments to suppliers. - If you request a cancellation 5 days in advance and up to 3 days before the start date of the experience you can reschedule the trip, as long as there are spaces available, without the possibility of reimbursement and readjusting the value if there were costs already incurred. - If the cancellation is equal to or less than 3 days before the start date of the trek, you will not be able to reschedule but you will be able to endorse the quota. - If you do not show up the day of departure there is no possibility of rescheduling or refunding the money paid in the reservation. - If you wish to leave the experience during the experience, no money will be refunded for any reason. Cancellation by Explora Verde - If the minimum number of participants for each experience is not reached, the full amount paid by the participant will be refunded. - If, due to situations beyond the agency's control, it is difficult to carry out the hike (weather conditions, road conditions, public disturbances, among others), the hike will be rescheduled discounting the payments made to third parties, in equal parts between the participant and Explora Verde; reimbursing the remaining amount to the participant if the new date of the outing does not coincide with the date of the hike.

How demanding is the crossing?

The Travesía is beautiful, requires good physical condition and good health, do not suffer from knees, there are steep descents and ascents.

Shall we enter the Chingaza Natural Park?

We do not enter the park, we want to remind you that the paramo is very large and is not only the park, it belongs to 11 municipalities and all have part of the paramo. You will be in the Paramo in the buffer zone, we will enter two private reserves supported by parks to extend the conservation corridor of its biodiversity. You will be able to see the same ecosystem and the best thing is that with your payment you support these private initiatives to prosper.

Is it safe to see the Andean bear?

The probability of seeing it has increased because its population has increased thanks to conservation and awareness of its care, however it is in the wild, in the day it can travel many kilometers and has a whole moor to go through it, we can not guarantee its sighting, we can observe feeders, footprints and even feces... We will also depend on the will of the pachamama.
