The Everest Base Camp Trek is ranked as one of the most beautiful treks in the world, you will walk with a view of the Himalayas from the first moment, you will feel like in a dream. As we walk through the Khumbu Valley and Sagarmatha National Park until we reach the base camp of Mount Everest, located at 5,364 meters above sea level, a journey of 16 days and 11 stages with two acclimatization stages. As we advance we will cross hanging bridges, small picturesque villages, ravines, snow-capped mountains and we will share with its inhabitants and the Sherpa culture, we will be accompanied by Yaks and we will contemplate monasteries or temples, where we will possibly share with their monks.

Itinerary
April 15 to 30, 2025
Meeting point: Kathmandu, Nepal (air tickets not included, we will advise you on how to travel)
Total travel days 16 days
Total walking days: 11 days
Total walking distance: 115 km
Maximum trekking altitude: 5,364 (Everest Base Camp) and 5,650 (Kalaphatar optional trek).
Average temperature: During the day the temperature is normally warm and can fluctuate between 15°C to 20°C. During the afternoon the temperature can drop to 5°C. During the night it can drop to temperatures below freezing (-3 to -5°C). Temperature is directly related to altitude.
Distance covered per day: 9 to 12 km. The last stage of the return trip is 17
Physical condition: No experience in high mountain is required. It requires good physical condition, since most of the time you walk from 4 to 7 hours a day carrying a backpack (day pack) of about 6 kg.
Lodging: During the trek we will stay in lodges (lodges / teahouse). These provide basic accommodation (double rooms, shared bathrooms, you should go with an open mind about this, they are not characterized by giving more importance to the bathrooms),. Sleeping bags are not required for the hostels. The lodging also offers hot water and internet, battery charging, and laundry (both according to availability and extra cost). The higher the hostel, the more basic the services and the more expensive the services such as internet, charging devices and hot water.
The cuisine of the lodges offers international food, from pizzas and pastas to typical Nepalese dishes.
Porters: 1 porter for every 2 passengers. Each porter carries a maximum of 30 kg.
VISA: The tourist visa is obtained directly at the immigration department of the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. It is necessary to bring at least 6 passport size photos, a copy of the passport and US$ 50 in cash for 30 days stay.
ITINERARY
Day 1. April 15, 2025 Welcome in Kathmandu, welcome at the airport and transfer to hotel.
Day 2. April 16 Kathmandu: Preparation for trekking, you can visit some temples and tourist sites and in the Tamel neighborhood buy some mountain items that you need (highly recommended, they are cheap).
Day 3 - April 17 Stage 1. Transfer to the local airport (8 hours overland) and fly to Lukla. Meet the porters, luggage delivery, start trekking to Phakding : Distance: 8km : Altitude 2.610 masl.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Lukla and Ramecchap airports may open and close depending on weather and visibility conditions. You may have to spend 1 or 2 nights in Ramecchap, go with an open mind to possible itinerary changes and even change of trekking location, remember! The mountain decides
Day 4 - APRIL 18 - Stage 2. Trekking to Namche Bazaar : Distance: 10km : Altitude: 3.440 masl.
Day 5 - APRIL 19 - Stage 3. Short hike in Namche for acclimatization : Distance: 5km : Altitude: 3.800 masl and sleep at 3.440 masl.
Day 6 - APRIL 20 - Stage 4. Trekking to Tengboche : Distance: 10 km : Altitude: 3,867 m.a.s.l.
Day 7 - APRIL 21 - Stage 5. Trekking to Dingboche : Distance: 10.5 km : Altitude: 4,343 m asl
Day 8 - APRIL 22nd - Stage 6. Dingboche - Ascent for acclimatization : Distance: 6 km : Altitude: 4,800 masl and sleeping at 4,343 masl
Day 9 - APRIL 23 - Stage 7. Trekking to Lobuche : Distance: 8.5 km : Altitude: 4.930 masl.
Day 10 - APRIL 24 - Stage 8. Trek to Everest Base Camp : Distance: 7.5 km : Height: 5.364 masl + Trek back to Gorakshep : Distance: 3.5 km : Height: 5.164 masl
Day 11 - APRIL 25 - Stage 9. Optional trekking to Kalapatthar (high point to see Everest at sunrise) : Distance: 3km : Height: 5.650 masl + Trekking back to Periche : Distance: 13 km : Height: 5.545 masl
Day 12 - APRIL 26 - Stage 10. Trekking back to Namche Baazar : Distance: 15 km : Altitude: 3.340 masl.
Day 13 - APRIL 27 - Stage 11. Trekking back to Lukla : Distance: 18 km : Altitude: 2.840 masl.
Day 14 - APRIL 28 - Flight back to Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel
Day 15. - APRIL 29th Free day in Kathmandu for sightseeing and souvenir shopping.
Day 16. - APRIL 30. Return to their cities of origin.

Personal equipment for trekking
IMPORTANT / NOT INCLUDED: Tips for Nepalese guide and porters (us150 to 200 aprox c/tourist). Remember that they will be with the group during the 11 days of the trek, they will carry your luggage and personal belongings and they will do their best to take good care of us.
Travel insurance, personal medical expenses and other eventualities not considered in the program, such as helicopter evacuation.
It does not include sim card, nor payment of internet in hostels.

Frequent questions

Is there internet on the route?
Yes, WiFi is available in most locations. The approximate cost is US$ 1 to 5 per hour. Encrypted cards for WiFi access can also be purchased at an extra cost.
Are there grocery stores along the route?
Yes, in every town there are grocery stores or bodegas.
Do I need to bring a sleeping bag?
No, it is not necessary to carry a sleeping bag
How many kilos maximum can I deliver to my carrier?
Considering that there is 1 porter for every 2 walkers, and that each porter can carry a maximum of 30 kg, the maximum weight to be delivered is 15 kg per walker.
Can I find pharmacies?
In the village of Namche Bazaar (the most important on the route) there is a hospital. In the smaller villages, there are pharmacies and medicines.
What happens if I cannot continue walking?
If you cannot continue with the trek due to any eventuality, we send a guide to accompany you back to Lukla, and reception staff in Kathmandu.
Is there a possibility of evacuation?
Possible means of evacuation are by horseback and helicopter. For minor problems you can return by horseback to Lukla. For major problems, a helicopter is available at any time to return to Kathmandu at an additional cost.
Is there a refund for the days I could not be on the trek?
There is no refund once you sign up.
Is it possible to change the date of the flight from lukla to kathmandu?
Yes, you can change the flight date. No penalty. Subject to flight availability.
Is there electricity on the route for battery charging?
Yes, electricity is available in all villages. If there is a power outage, the shelters will provide solar panels or generators for this purpose. However in many there is an additional charge for charging devices.
Is there contact with Kathmandu?
Yes, the guides and the agency will be in contact at all times through local cell phones. There is a local signal in each village. Therefore, all arrangements for flight changes, emergency evacuation, lodge and hotel reservations, etc. will be made by us.
Can I schedule groups?

FIRST: COMPLIANCE. EXPLORA VERDE Travel and Tourism Agency with RNT 40954 and its operators are committed to the excursionist to fully comply with the stipulations of the program. SECOND: RESPONSIBILITY. EXPLORA VERDE. assumes no responsibility to the user for events such as: strikes, riots, earthquakes, weather conditions that alter the schedules of flights, boats and tours in the area due to rain or wind restrictions that cause the closure of ports and / or airports, security conditions, political factors, denial of entry permits and any other case of force majeure that may occur during the trip. In its capacity as intermediary, it has limited responsibility in the presentation of the services of the suppliers, likewise it does not interfere in the political decisions of the same for the benefit of the excursionist. THIRD: OF THE OPERATION. We reserve the right to make modifications to the tour according to unforeseen circumstances for the benefit of the traveler. The agency may modify, replace or cancel itineraries, land and / or river tours, hotels, optional services, which is now accepted by the passenger to purchase the services. FOURTH: PRICES. The prices set forth in this contract were calculated based on established market rates and confirmed departure date. Prices valid for payment in cash, virtual payments and bank transfers. Prices shown in Colombian pesos and/or dollars; credit card payments have an increase of 5% and foreign payments in other currencies are subject to change due to market volatility. All passengers must send a copy of their identity card and/or passport at the time of requesting the reservation, since the correct data for registrations will be those registered therein and thus avoid penalties for spelling errors in the number and name of the traveler (very common errors when these data are sent via WhatsApp or Email). In case of cancellation or withdrawal by the passenger, the administrative fee of US$200 will be retained; and the money that has not been paid or spent due to reservations and payments to suppliers will be reimbursed in mention to the damage caused by blocked quotas in hotels and / or tours. FIRST PARAGRAPH: The tourist who, due to force majeure, is forced to withdraw from the excursion, understanding as force majeure illness not endorsed by the medical assistance card or domestic calamity in first and second degree of consanguinity, will be reimbursed for the services that have not been separated by the travel agency EXPLORA VERDE until the moment, except for the expenses that have been caused or will be caused later for reasons of cancellation, in addition to the discount of the penalty of EXPLORA VERDE. This does not apply in case of no-show on the day and time at the agreed meeting point. SECOND PARAGRAPH: In order for refunds to be applicable for any reason, they shall be formalized by means of a deposit to an account authorized by the registered passenger and shall be canceled upon presentation of the claim within a term no longer than (30) calendar days. However, if the process takes longer for reasons beyond EXPLORA VERDE's control, it will not recognize any interest on the amounts to be refunded. THIRD PARAGRAPH: No refund will be made for unused agreed services. Restrictions and fines apply for non-compliance or cancellations by the tourist according to legal regulations and according to commercial custom in tourism, subject to the penalties of law, for non-compliance by the user in favor of EXPLORA VERDE. EIGHTH: The luggage is transported at the risk and expense of the tourist, therefore, the organizer is not obliged to respond contractually for loss or damage to such belongings or luggage during the trip. NINTH: RIGHT OF ADMISSION. EXPLORA VERDE and the operator on site, reserves the right of admission and expulsion of those persons who with their actions hinder the smooth running of the trip and coexistence within the tour and does not accept any responsibility for legal matters or other inconveniences in which the tourist may be involved, in the event that the user is forced to withdraw from the tour for such reasons and likewise for personal expenses incurred by the passenger. TENTH: VISAS AND DOCUMENTATION It is the total responsibility of the passenger to carry the original identity document and the necessary documents to carry out the trip with the minimum validity required by each destination in terms of exit tax, fees, charges, preventive health measures and assistance services. TWELFTH: IN ALL OUR PLANS APPLIES ARTICLE 16 OF LAW 679 OF AUGUST 03, 2001, PROTECTION OF MINORS ON PROSTITUTION. THIRTEENTH: VALIDITY. This reservation is valid until after the contracted tourist plan has been carried out. FOURTEENTH: KNOWLEDGE. The traveler declares that he/she knows and accepts these conditions in their entirety, which constitute the sole agreement, total and exclusive of any agreement or legal provision to the contrary, regarding the terms, conditions and restrictions of the contracted services.
