As we walk through the Khumbu Valley and Sagarmatha National Park until we reach the base camp of Mount Everest, located at 5,364 meters above sea level, a journey of 16 days and 11 stages with two acclimatization stages. Meeting point: Kathmandu, Nepal (air tickets not included, we will advise you on how to travel)

Total travel days 16 days

Total walking days: 11 days

Total walking distance: 115 km

Maximum trekking altitude: 5,364 (Everest Base Camp) and 5,650 (Kalaphatar optional trek).

Average temperature: During the day the temperature is normally warm and can fluctuate between 15°C to 20°C. During the afternoon the temperature can drop to 5°C. During the night it can drop to temperatures below freezing (-3 to -5°C). Temperature is directly related to altitude.

Distance covered per day: 9 to 12 km. The last stage of the return trip is 17

Physical condition: No experience in high mountain is required. It requires good physical condition, since most of the time you walk from 4 to 7 hours a day carrying a backpack (day pack) of about 6 kg.

Lodging: During the trek we will stay in lodges (lodges / teahouse). These provide basic accommodation (double rooms, shared bathrooms, you should go with an open mind about this, they are not characterized by giving more importance to the bathrooms),. Sleeping bags are not required for the hostels. The lodging also offers hot water and internet, battery charging, and laundry (both according to availability and extra cost). The higher the hostel, the more basic the services and the more expensive the services such as internet, charging devices and hot water.

The cuisine of the lodges offers international food, from pizzas and pastas to typical Nepalese dishes.

Porters: 1 porter for every 2 passengers. Each porter carries a maximum of 30 kg.

VISA: The tourist visa is obtained directly at the immigration department of the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. It is necessary to bring at least 6 passport size photos, a copy of the passport and US$ 50 in cash for 30 days stay.

ITINERARY

Welcome in Kathmandu, reception at the airport and transfer to hotel.

Day 2. Preparation for the trekking, you can visit some temples and tourist places and in the Tamel neighborhood buy some mountain articles that you need (highly recommended, they are cheap).

Day 3 Transfer to local airport (8 hours overland) and fly to Lukla. Meet the porters, luggage delivery, start trekking to Phakding : Distance: 8km : Altitude 2.610 masl.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Lukla and Ramecchap airports may open and close depending on weather and visibility conditions. You may have to spend 1 or 2 nights in Ramecchap, go with an open mind to possible itinerary changes and even change of trekking location, remember! The mountain decides

Day 4 - Stage 2. Trekking to Namche Bazaar : Distance: 10km : Altitude: 3.440 masl.

Day 5 - Stage 3. Short hike in Namche for acclimatization : Distance: 5km : Altitude: 3.800 masl. and sleep at 3.440 masl.

Day 6 - Stage 4. Trekking to Tengboche : Distance: 10 km : Altitude: 3,867 m asl

Day 7 - Stage 5. Trekking to Dingboche : Distance: 10.5 km : Altitude: 4,343 m asl

Day 8 - Stage 6. Dingboche - Ascent for acclimatization : Distance: 6 km : Altitude: 4,800 m.a.s.l. and sleep at 4,343 m.a.s.l.

Day 9 - Stage 7. Trekking to Lobuche : Distance: 8.5 km : Altitude: 4.930 masl.

Day 10 - Stage 8. Trek to Everest Base Camp : Distance: 7.5 km : Altitude: 5,364 masl + Trek back to Gorakshep : Distance: 3.5 km : Altitude: 5,164 masl

Day 11 Stage 9. Optional trekking to Kalapatthar (high point to see Everest at sunrise) : Distance: 3km : Height: 5.650 masl + Return trek to Periche : Distance: 13 km : Height: 5.545 masl

Day 12 - Stage 10. Return trek to Namche Baazar : Distance: 15 km : Altitude: 3,340 masl.

Day 13 - Stage 11. Trekking back to Lukla : Distance: 18 km : Altitude: 2.840 masl.

Day 14 - Flight back to Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel

Day 15. - Free day in Kathmandu for sightseeing and souvenir shopping.

IMPORTANT / NOT INCLUDED: Tips for Nepalese guide and porters (us150 to 200 aprox c/tourist). Remember that they will be with the group during the 11 days of the trek, they will carry your luggage and personal belongings and they will do their best to take good care of us.

Is there internet on the route?

Yes, WiFi is available in most locations. The approximate cost is US$ 1 to 5 per hour. Encrypted cards for WiFi access can also be purchased at an extra cost.

Are there grocery stores along the route?

Yes, in every town there are grocery stores or bodegas.

Do I need to bring a sleeping bag?

No, it is not necessary to carry a sleeping bag

How many kilos maximum can I deliver to my carrier?

Considering that there is 1 porter for every 2 walkers, and that each porter can carry a maximum of 30 kg, the maximum weight to be delivered is 15 kg per walker.

Can I find pharmacies?

In the village of Namche Bazaar (the most important on the route) there is a hospital. In the smaller villages, there are pharmacies and medicines.

What happens if I cannot continue walking?

If you cannot continue with the trek due to any eventuality, we send a guide to accompany you back to Lukla, and reception staff in Kathmandu.

Is there a possibility of evacuation?

Possible means of evacuation are by horseback and helicopter. For minor problems you can return by horseback to Lukla. For major problems, a helicopter is available at any time to return to Kathmandu at an additional cost.

Is there a refund for the days I could not be on the trek?

There is no refund once you sign up.

Is it possible to change the date of the flight from lukla to kathmandu?

Yes, you can change the flight date. No penalty. Subject to flight availability.

Is there electricity on the route for battery charging?

Yes, electricity is available in all villages. If there is a power outage, the shelters will provide solar panels or generators for this purpose. However in many there is an additional charge for charging devices.

Is there contact with Kathmandu?

Yes, the guides and the agency will be in contact at all times through local cell phones. There is a local signal in each village. Therefore, all arrangements for flight changes, emergency evacuation, lodge and hotel reservations, etc. will be made by us.

SEGUNDA: DE LA RESPONSABILIDAD. EXPLORA VERDE. no asume responsabilidad frente al usuario por eventos tales como: huelgas, asonadas, terremotos, Condiciones climáticas que alteren los horarios de vuelos, embarcaciones y los recorridos en la zona por restricciones frente a lluvias o vientos que causen el cierre de puertos y/o aeropuertos; condiciones de seguridad, factores políticos, negación de permisos de ingresos y cualquier otro caso de fuerza mayor que pudiere ocurrir durante el viaje. En su calidad de intermediario tiene responsabilidad limitada en la presentación de los servicios de los proveedores, así mismo no tiene injerencia en las decisiones políticas de los mismos en beneficio del excursionista. TERCERA: DE LA OPERACIÓN. Nos reservamos el derecho de hacer las modificaciones al recorrido acorde a las circunstancias imprevistas en beneficio del viajero. PARÁGRAFO PRIMERO: Al turista que por fuerza mayor, se vea obligado a retirarse de la excursión entendiéndose como fuerza mayor enfermedad no avalada por la tarjeta de asistencia médica o calamidad doméstica en primero y segundo grado de consanguinidad se le reembolsara los servicios que no hayan sido separados por la agencia de viajes EXPLORA VERDE hasta el momento, exceptuándose los gastos que efectivamente se hayan causado o se causaren posteriormente por razones de su cancelación, además del descuento de la penalidad de EXPLORA VERDE. No aplican en caso de no presentarse el día y la hora en el punto de encuentro acordado PARÁGRAFO SEGUNDO: Para que los reembolsos sean procedentes por cualquier concepto, se formalizarán por medio de consignación, a una cuenta autorizada por parte del pasajero inscrito y serán cancelados previa presentación de la reclamación en un término no mayor a (30) días calendario. No obstante, en caso que el trámite tome más tiempo por causas ajenas a EXPLORA VERDE esta no reconocerá ningún interés sobre las sumas a reembolsar. PARÁGRAFO TERCERO: No se efectuará devolución alguna por servicios pactados no utilizados. Aplican restricciones y multas por incumplimiento o cancelaciones del turista conforme a las normas legales y conforme a la costumbre comercial en turismo, sujeto a las penalidades de ley, por incumplimiento del usuario a favor de EXPLORA VERDE OCTAVA: El equipaje se transporta por cuenta y riesgo del turista, por tanto, la parte organizadora no está obligada a responder contractualmente por pérdidas o daños en dichos enseres o equipajes durante el viaje. NOVENA: DERECHO DE ADMISIÓN. EXPLORA VERDE y el operador en sitio, se reserva el derecho de admisión y de expulsión de aquellas personas que con sus actos dificulten la buena marcha del viaje y la convivencia dentro del tour y no admite responsabilidad alguna frente a los asuntos legales u otros inconvenientes en los que pueda verse involucrado el turista, en caso de que el usuario se vea obligado a retirarse de la excursión por tales motivos y así mismo frente a los gastos personales en que el pasajero incurra. DÉCIMA: VISAS Y DOCUMENTACIÓN Es responsabilidad total del pasajero llevar documento de identidad original y los documentos necesarios para efectuar su viaje con la vigencia mínima que requiere cada destino en cuanto a Impuesto de salida del país, tasas, cargos, medidas de salud preventivas y servicios de asistencia DÉCIMO SEGUNDA: EN TODOS NUESTROS PLANES APLICA EL ARTICULO 16 DE LA LEY 679 DE AGOSTO 03 DE 2001, PROTECCIÓN A MENORES DE EDAD SOBRE PROSTITUCIÓN.
